The Vicar of Dibley (1994 - 2007)

Dawn French (French & Saunders) is the first female vicar in the small parish of Dibley. Revd Geraldine Granger is portrayed by French as an assertive, fun-loving, and caring pastor of her flock. At times she can also be a bit overwhelming, outplaying for example David Horton (Gary Waldhorn), chairman of the parish council, in the first episode, by liberally offering his whisky to the guests of the reception of the new vicar to help them over the shock that she is a woman. To one parishioners observation that she is a woman she retorts (referring to her bosom): "These are such a dead giveaway."
