ITV commissioned six episodes as a sequel to the BBC show Till Death us do part. Having now retired to Eastbourne the couple shares a flat with their widowed friend Min. Alf is perenniallyn complaining about everything, the youth, the Labour party, unions, Margaret Thatcher, his grandson, …. And "despite having done his best, having worked his fingers to the bone, and having tried to install some values into his daughter Rita" he is sure to be annoyed, not least by the fact that there are always plenty of things to complain about.
