The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (1976 - 1979)

Trapped in his dead-end job and daily routine at Sunshine Desserts Reginald Perrin (Leonard Rossiter) arrives eleven minutes late every morning due to staff difficulties, signal failure, defective axles, or the occasional escaped puma. The fundamentally likable and decent Reginald has increasingly bizarre fantasies and behaves ever more eccentric as a result of his frustration with dull colleagues, British Rail, his boss CJ and the meaninglessness and absurdity of everyday life.

A sequel The Legacy of Reginald Perrin starring many of the original cast, but not Leanard Rossiter who had died in 1984 was broadcast in 1996.

There is also a 2009 remake of the series titled Reggie Perrin starring Martin Clunes (Men Behaving Badly).
